Gunawan won 30 titles in IBF World Grand Prix (Men’s Doubles) from 1997 to 2009.

In IBF World Grand Prix (Men’s Doubles) his partner is Victo Wibowo, Candra Wijaya, Halim Haryanto, Bob Malaythong, Howard Bach.

He won almost all IBF World Grand Prix tournaments includes French open, Polish Open, Copenhagen Masters, Swedish Open, Malaysia Open, Brunei, Hong Kong Open, All England Open, Malaysia Open, Ipoh Masters, Japan Open, U.S. open, Puerto Rico Open, SCBA Classic, Dutch Open, USA SCBA International, Bitburger German Open.

Tony won the gold medal with his partner Howard Bach in IBF World Championship.
